Well spotted Yorinda! The ‘pastry’ was uncooked. I’m not sure what else they had in the beetroot falafel, they were very soft and succulent so I’m guessing it was almost pure barely cooked beetroot with spices.

The beetroot falafal sounded great. What were the ingredients apart from beetroot and sesame seed?
Where the samosas wrapped in uncooked pastry?
I wish we had a restaurant like that nearby.
