Hello,

I’m from the U.S., and comforted to know that I’m not the only person who dislikes Capers. I’m not a picky eater by any means , but the first time I had capers was on a bagel with lox and immediately I tasted a strong bitterness that traveled all the way to my stomach and made me feel severely nauseated. This happened not once, but twice; so whenever I see capers as an ingredient I request that they be removed. Awful little devils.

I can’t stand capers. They’re slipped into almost every salmon and cream cheese bagel nowadays and it completely ruins a perfectly great taste combo! The other taste I can’t deal with is chicken liver. Tried it once and almost threw up, then tried it again a while later hoping I’d acquire the taste…nope.

I know this is old, but I found it because I thought I was weird and had to look up if I’m the only one that can’t stand capers! I mean I hate (with the full strength of the word hate) the taste. Glad to know I’m not alone. Hopefully you haven’t acquired a taste for it (as this post is really old) and left me alone in my hate lol.

HI Michael, Capers remind of eating bugs No Thanks I am not eating them. I am not a very fussy eater and I am open to try Almost anything once.. It is weird how everyone has a different taste for things HUH? Thanks for sharing Chery 🙂

Your description of the capers made me chuckle. There’s a lot of the vegetable family that I really really dislike. I’m not sure though if any border on hatred but then again I tend to just ignore the food that comes bearing unsavory things. I didn’t realize that tartare sauce contained capers though. I’d have told you that I never eatten a caper but I guess they’ve snuck by me!
