Adventures of a juice cleanse….day 2 @soulmatefood

I made it through the night without sneaking in any food! What has astonished me today, day two was I started off not hungry. Yes, you read that right, after a day of only having juices and no bulky fibre, carbs, dairy, my usual diet, I didn't wake up hungry. First hurdle over. I was also in a good mood and very productive. The juices today have remained interesting and delicious, but definitely tasted different. Take juice 2 for starters. Yesterday it tasted like a cinnamon bun (yes really) but today it was more limey.

I wonder if my taste buds are getting a detox too?

Having been recovering from a really bad cold last week, yeah yeah I shouldn't be doing a detox, well I am, what was a shock today but not a surprise was the amount of snot I had. Not very foodie I know, but I am putting it down to the detox and my body raring to get going with a cleaner slate so to speak. I did get a bit of a light headache in the early evening and I washed it away with water, which meant yet more visits to the toilet...well all this liquid is playing havoc with my bladder! The most difficult part for me today has been working this evening, I ran an event and got every one attending some wine and nibbles. Not everyone drank wine, yet everyone nibbled apart from me. I did look longingly at a nut and wonder if licking the salt off would be cheating! Instead I took out Juice no. 5 and supped on something that made me feel like I love myself enough to give my body the break and nourishment it needs! Not to end on a difficulty something really interesting happened, my face is after one day looking clearer and a mini breakout from yesterday morning, before I started juicing which would have taken ages to heal is virtually gone. Coincidence....? I don't think so. Everyone says day three will be better, well day two was pretty darn brilliant and more than anything the hunger pangs that started when I looked at the bar nibbles were not where I tripped up and that is the kind of self discipline of Queens, wouldn't you agree...? Well a few more sips on my chamomile tea and then off to bed, and no the tea has no caffeine! Do you have any words of encouragement for me? Advice? Have you done a juice cleanse? Or maybe you have always wanted to do one? Talk to me by leaving a comment as I am not cooking this week, I have so much time to chat! If you missed my day one adventure you can check it out here. If you want to do your own juice cleanse and are in the UK, then these are the people I am using, Soul Mate Food. I paid for my own cleanse and then decided to document it, so neither me or Food on the Blog are affiliates or getting anything else out of recommending them except genuine pleasure! Sarupa Shah
