Final day of juicing…

Ta dah...I reached the final day and in fact the final juice has been drunk. I felt a bit sad and my fridge looked a bit bare! Today has been a mixed bag as I have felt really woozie a few times, and brilliant too. This morning I helped my mum cook, frying indian treats for a brunch on Sunday and normally I would have been nibbling, tasting and critiquing. Well critiquing helpfully! Today I just cooked and didn't nibble. I didn't want to, the end was so close. I have also signed up for a raw week, basically I wanted some inspirational recipes and I want back in the kitchen. I learned that although juicing will be a welcome friend in my life. In fact my local Waitrose had a new line of unpasteurised juices, which I have added to my fridge for the weekend and next week! I have also learned how much I love being in the kitchen. How much I love experimenting and creating and trying new stuff. Hence why I am playing with raw food, the adventure, not the woo woo obsession that so many have. I also suspect it is going to be kinder to my system to gently ease back to food rather than going back to what it was so soon. Variety is the spice of life, however without health you haven't got much life. A bit heavy for a late Friday night post, but it is true and every now and then you have to take stock with your diet and eating habits and banish the bad ones. Well you don't have to do anything but you know what I mean. I would recommend juicing, even if it isn't as regimental as me, but if not don't mix it up with cooked food, stick to raw. Obviously I am not giving medical advice and you have to figure out your own health situation and talk to your relevant professionals, but making healthy choices whatever they are, are a good thing when it comes to food as it feels like a re-calibration. Getting the juices delivered was a decadent treat and I highly recommend it, definitely locate someone near you and if you are in the UK you can use who I did: Soul Mate Food and today I found these people who are next on my list to try. Just not next week as I thought. Now I am looking forward to giving up the can't be bothered to cook so food delivered pattern and get back to being a proudly conscious creator in the kitchen...and you never know I might share some of my triumphs over the next week but then again I might not. Thanks for following this journey, it gave me a level of accountability that I probably needed. Do let me know what you have thought and anything about your experience of juicing or where you would recommend buying juice cleanses near you! Sarupa Shah
