Food in the news @ April 6th

Welcome to my round up of food and drink related stories that caught my eye. It seems every week interesting stories pop up so I thought I would share some of my favourites with you.

Eat more veg…NOW!

Seems like the 5 a day rule which has been drummed into us for years is a little off balance. We should actually be eating 7-10 portions of vegetables a day. People have often complained that 5 portions is hard to keep up with so I’m not sure how these people will take this news.

Universal plates

If you’re more a pure science nerd then these planet plates are for you! Recreate our solar system while tucking into your dinner. I’ll be looking for these being used as props in the Big Bang Theory.

Coca-Cola can (not)

If you thought choosing the right wine glass/booze glass was tough, well I’m sorry to say things just got a little worse. This £12 glass is said to ‘enhance the drinking experience’ of your favourite soft drink…erm really?

Milk vodka anyone? (No not a white Russian)

How about a pure milk vodka promising a “creamy” taste? Perhaps it will taste fantastic mixed with coke and drunk from the ‘special’ glass above. Will you be rushing out to get this for your drinks cabinet?
