As I lover of Thai food, I ventured to Patara in South Kensington. They have four locations in London and several more internationally, including Bangkok.
Location, location, location!
This is an upmarket chain of restaurants and this is apparent from the Fulham Road location to the swanky interior.
I must say although they position themselves in ‘posh’ areas of town, the place is comfortable, accessible and offers service with a smile.
The starter I chose was the Miang Guaytiew, three types of rice paper roll, prawn, crabmeat and duck served with chilli sauce. They were really tasty and had a good texture. I

love dishes like this which let you have a variety of flavours, although the white crabmeat was a little bit lost against the lime spiked chilli sauce.
For my main course (and to keep the variety going!) I opted for the Panaeng Nong Gae. This is an impressive looking dish, a whole shank of lamb in a red curry sauce. I love lamb cooked the Thai way, the richness of the meat matches the richness of the coconut based sauce and the chilli and kaffir lime leaves cut through it all beautifully.
YUM!
If you like Thai food this offers the cuisine as you know and love it. There are no surprises here but sometimes that’s a good thing. In fact I had to ask for a small plate of chopped red chillies on the side of my red curry to get the heat up to how I like it.
I thoroughly enjoyed the meal, if you are looking for a Thai restaurant to take a date to or have a special meal I can recommend Patara.
They have a lot of interesting dishes on the menu, and there were a couple of curries that I just might have to go back for :)
Have you been? Do you have a Thai restaurant that the world needs to know about? If so remember to post in the comments below!

Nostalgia is a wonderful thing. Memories from your childhood that you rarely get to see or experience again, leave you wistfully day dreaming about those halcyon days gone by… But lucky for us here in the UK Wimpy is celebrating their 70th Anniversary! That’s right 70 years of Wimpy. Let’s think about that for a
This is a new brand for me and I’ll tell you why Tindle is your new favourite (not) chicken. I have tried a lot of different brands of “fake” chicken, and if you have too you’ll know that some are better than others. So I was up for the taste test challenge when I received
